Happy Sunday everbody! I write to you today while away from home, because the universe has blessed me. Its a little too much for me to go into detail about, but let's just say that I've made a very positive move recently.
So I just wanted to say this blogging from the road thing is new to me. Though I may appear to be one of the initiated when it comes to virtual life, I am tragically as hip as your grandpa dancing with his pant leg tucked into his paisley sock. Yes. Awesome. I get a little timid revealing my online obsessions in public, since usually I comport myself as a fairly young, well-mannered gentleman of few distinguishing peculiarities, and that is fairly hard to do when you're medium-dark skinned carrying a 17" laptop. Even if I'm not assumed a terrorist, I'll probably be watched intently.
So the other day I got pulled into Anders Loves Maria, which I've known of since November last year, but hadn't gotten around to reading. Fortunately for me, whenever several instances of something cross my line of sight, my curiousity gets the best of me. Rene Engstrom is delightfully astute, with a charming mixture of wit and frankness that makes even her daily strip notations worth reading through with anticipation and joy.
I've also been closely following Natalie Tyler Tran's first trip to Comic-Con. A cute nerd girl in my city? The world has gone crazy with coincidence and serendipity. I just noticed some kid posted a video inviting her to dinner. That's manhood calling you son! Haha. Oh wait. It was a girl. Nvrmnd.
So I know I've mentioned it before, but I was thinking of either putting together a weekly podcast or vlog. What do you all think? Hands? Podcast? Vlog? How many would like to see both? How many of you will offer me money/sexual favors for either?
Was that inappropriate?

Okay speaking of hard workers, your boy here is going on 5 hours of sleep and was busting hump all weekend in 3-digit heat. It's time for a nap. Thanks for having a noodle with me.
Blessings from on high,

Restlessness
I've just finished a marathon reading of Mister X, a book infatuated with insomnia, insanity, and interminable inertia. And last night I caught the last showing of Public Enemies, which clocks in at 2hrs 23 mins, another story of inertia and violent kinetics. Sleep for me in the last 48 hours has come in torrents escaping the drastic heat, and then has dissipated like so many shallow rivers in the midst of drought.
Ladies and gentleman (to be frank more the ladies than the gents) I am in need of a hug and a restful sleep. Maybe a lap to lay my head upon while soft hands stroke my brow and fingers run through my hair. A shallow desire, I know. Please forgive.
So I don't know any other way to put it than to just say: I lost my job. Well, my day job. I was becoming increasingly unhappy with office politics so it's a great relief on my weary shoulders, but now I'm stuck in the nightmare America has obsessed about for the last year or so, unemployed in a dwindling economy. Oh well, it's not like I lost my health insurance or anything LMAO! Ahem. There was never any offered to begin with. But hey, let's all take this as a lesson to go and find new cheese when your regular supply of cheese has gone moldy and rancid.
So on to better things.

Hi Sunday Afternoon Noodles!
Today's SAN was brought to you hours behind schedule thanks to hot weather, lack of sleep, and procrastination. I am frustratingly trying to balance keeping SAN consistent while trying to give outlet to my art and writing endeavors. Unfortunately, all I have for you this week is scraps. In fact, Nick Fury and Black Terror will have to wait yet again. I promise I will give them their own special Sunday with tons of background, fast facts, and rare artwork. But for now, they'll just have to sit on the shelf until I can alot the necessary time to do it right. I hope you understand.
So What do we have here? Well some time ago I cooked a perfectly seared, medium rare steak, with my special cayenne fried zucchini. A few days later I grilled up the leftover steaks and cut them up for a couple of burritoes. One of those burritoes has chick peas for lack of refried beans, Sargento 4-cheese, homemade salsa (jalapeno & serrano), sour cream, cotija cheese, rice, and jalapenos. The other has black beans in place of the chick-peas.
That's it for now Noodles. OH I forgot to mention Season 1 of Legend of The Seeker on hulu! Now if you'll excuse me I have episodes of Star Wars: Clone Wars and Star Wars: The Clone Wars to upload to my Zune on the offhand chance I have time to kill and am interested in watching them.

From This Day Fifth
The Fourth of July was yesterday, yippie-ki-yay, and nobody in this area burnt their house down. Consequently I did not get a call in the middle of the night to go into work. I am a happy boy.
But to be honest I didn't go and share in the festivities last night. Instead I cooked up some steaks and stayed cool at a nice 78° versus the outside 92° at 8pm. Yes, that is ridiculous weather to be standing around in staring at the sky for exploding gasses of various colors. Some of you might find that unpatriotic, but to you I say go stuff yourself. Ha ha. Something about the fourth brings out the red-blooded, ready-for-a-fight, forget-you in me. I wonder what it could be.
One of the great things about the 4th is the sci-fi channel puts on a twilight zone marathon. I think that trumps watching a light show in miserably hot weather next to people who'll spend the next 2 hours honking at me in bumper to bumper traffic during the trip home.
So anyway, I wanted to get to much more important philosphical things. Like Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandoes and The Black Terror. But that will have to wait another week while I talk a little about something picking at my brain.
Holiday's get me thinking about life and significance. Lately I've also been thinking about movies, entertainment, and meaningful experience. If I can channel Tom McKee I'd like to say:
But to further the thought I wanted to just put the questions out there: If you had to write a coming of age story about your life, what would it be? What's the difference between a good movie and a bad movie for you? Tell me about a great holiday celebration you had, and a not so great holiday celebration. What's your favorite story ending (book, film, play, fairytale, etc.)?
This past week went in a blur--mostly because heat stress forced me into early and elongated sleep spells. I managed to have the sense to return two late library books and pick up a gaggle of cd's (a motley mix of Chopin, Chavez, Lily Allen, Matisyahu, Frank Sinatra, and the original soundtracks of Marie Antoinette and L4yer Cake--both of which I have not see), and The Ultimates Vol. 2 Grand Theft America, Ultimate X-men vol. 11 The Most Dangerous Game, and Powers Vol.2 Roleplay.
Here are some random topics running through my mind: The work of Bryan Hitch, the cancelled tv shows Twin Peaks, Northern Exposure, and Due South, the graphic novel The Golden Age, and the works of James Robinson, the entire run of Cerebus the Aardvark, romantic comedies that incorporate lounge music or the music of members of the Ratpack in their soundtracks, Legend of the Seeker on hulu (is it?). Okay, until next week. Happy Sunday everybody.

Good movies have a way of taking us through the gamut of emotions, and turbulence of shifting situations that human beings normally equate with our coming of age years, or else a particularly harrowing test of our spirit such as a brush with death, the loss of a loved one, or a near insurmountable challenge.I think I finally could put the idea to words because of an episode of Mushishi I watched recently, titled Those Who Inhale the Dew. I won't ruin the plot for you, but you'll understand where I'm going with this point after you've seen it.
But to further the thought I wanted to just put the questions out there: If you had to write a coming of age story about your life, what would it be?
