This weekend I've been taking in the pre-winter fuzzies, that childish wooziness that accompanies being dizzied by all the hoopla of normal folk during the holiday season. Also I am a little sick still so my body is doing weird things like pumping my body full of endorphins and serotonin and allowing my voice to drop two octaves. I am taking in a lot of entertainment such as the entire Ranma 1/2 series, Callers (see below), a Dustin Harbin interview on Ink Studs, BSG, Superman Returns, Lost Season 1, Batman: The Killing Joke. I could, however, use some orange juice.

Cure for the common klutz

Now if only onions also cured colds! Oh yeah. They kinda do. This week I got hammered by my car's radiator taking a dump on me, and then waking up this Saturday with a full blown head cold. Y'know the kind where your nose burns all the way down your eustachia into the back of your throat, your body feels like somebody got you drunk then beat the shit out of you, and your brain seems to have been replaced with a suffocating gerbil.

Samhiti Blog - I can't remember who linked this to me, but I read Death Day up to the most recent chapter and found it very captivating, though at times hard to read.

This week I caught up with the 2 newer Bond films. I also watched The Dreamers which was worth the watch. Then on Saturday I had a Battlestar Galactica season 2 marathon which I kept falling asleep to on account of being sick. My playlist now also includes: The Prisoner, Venture Bros. season 2, Lost season 1, Lupin III season 1, and Gundam 0079.

Tonight I want to watch some Dr. Who, but where should I start? I've been jumping around reading Uncanny X-Men, and today I finished the first Dungeon Zenith book. I also watched Primer last night. For some reason I feel underwhelmed by the things I have in my queue. I feel like I should be getting a lot more out of these things I've taken the time to hunt down.

24-hour comics day was this past Saturday. Also web comics weekend and APE are around the corner. I'm really looking forward to getting to my first APE. I remember my first time attending each of the conventions I've been to through the years. Things are a little different being thirty, mostly older than a lot of the other attendees, older than some of the talent. I expect I'll have to overcome a little awkwardness, moreso without the old cigarette crutch I used to get on casually with strangers. I guess that's why they keep the bars open, huh? I wonder why it is I am so terrible at striking up witty conversation with people I've just met without some form of intoxicant? It's often like I'm back in grade school waiting out the moment when we'd all have to introduce ourselves to the class and say something pithy about ourselves. Contrast that with the first time you ever found yourself wandering through a group of drunk or high kids, spilling your guts about how wasted you were.
