*waaay way late post: Just started following Wook Jin Clark, who was the artist on the excellent The Return of King Doug. I'm going to have to take Eleanor Davis' advice on this series and make myself strong. I recently read The Witch's Scissors at Midnight Tea Party. I look at the amassed body of work by Taylor-Ruth at Hanging Rock Comics, and immediately think of Termite Art.
It was Brian Fukushima's Birthday on Tuesday, and Meredith Gran & Neil Gaiman's on Saturday. This was the week of the US Presidential Election, the continuing cleanup after hurricane Sandy, the debut of 007: Skyfall, and the day the UN declared November 10 Malala Day. It was the week I made cookie dough, had a ninja conversation with Bridge inspire a comic idea. It was the week I read and watched most of Uzumaki, started a sketch of Bond and Miss Moneypenny in preparation for a couple of doodles I planned for Penny's draw me meme.
On Thursday I had a wild flash of inspiration to do a Thundercats spin-off idea.

Golden Sunset Palzone
I started off the week desperately trying to finish two birthday present drawings for two awesome online art pals, which you might have noticed last post. This week Monday marked the 107th year since Little Nemo debuted, the 2nd presidential debate aired, and I watched it in bed before I passed out in exhaustion. Many jokes were had.
My favorite recent Henry the Worst artworks:
Sean Connery 4 vs. Alex Trebek
Adventures of Homemade Batman and Robin
Andrea Gerstmann
Delano-Laramie
Nick Iluzada
Lip Blue
I'm excited to see what comes out of this Megaman Boss Battles show!
I finished Fun Home at the end of the week and chanced upon Cross Game Volume 2. Earlier in the week I returned A Happy Death and picked up Batman: The Cult, Daredevil Vs. Bulls Eye, Vlad the Impaler by Sid Jacobson and Ernie Colón, and BPRD: 1946. I spent much of Saturday watching Teen Titans and Lupin, and finally sorted my comics in Comic Rack. It was 24 hour comic day also!
There were a lot of really beautiful, golden-sunsetted afternoons this week and I think they put me in an appreciative and dreamy mood. I read a bunch of Vattu and Scarygoround: Crisis Quest pt. 1. Jessi introduced me to Sim-Bionic Titan. I introduced Penny to spaghetti sandwhich, and coined the term Palzone. I caught an episode of this show called The Rebel with a character named Johnny Yuma. It was kitsch and cool at the same time. I'm hoping to get around to reading Arrowsmith soon, and picking back up with Oyasumi Pun Pun, Guin Saga, Rachel Rising and a lot of queued web comics.

I should have more specific artistic goals than: draw something awesome today.some time today.

I should probably organize my workspace with respect to what I absolutely need handy, and what is just cluttering the way.

I should probably set some deadlines for projects, and choose to spend time on projects that I can reasonably get done on a deadline. The Medallions by Matt Cummings (@eiffelart)

Why you think it's funny
This just in Space Avalanche is funny as hell.

This weekend everybody was all looney over the moon being a few tens of thousands of miles closer than usual. I mean it only happens every 20 or so years, so probably the last time it happened I was still reading X-men comic books. In print I mean.
So what did I do this weekend? Read a bunch of X-Men comic books? No, it was Avengers which I never really cared too much for back in the day. But now superhero comics for me are archives of the strange bouts of the subconscious, the socio-political climate, and the insecurities and fantasies of its authors. So it's like Epic Verse, Holy Books, and Mythology and it's right here in the making!
It also rained a whole bunch this weekend.

Rainy days don't make for productive Sunday Afternoon Noodles. They make for loafing and dreaming about making cookies but not having eggs in the house ergo a deeper conundrum of whether 'tis nobler to suffer the pangs of sorrow of egg-regious misfortune or get up and by getting up commit to doing other things while one is up. There is my weekend in a nutshell. How was yours?
