This weekend was the Oscars and I watched part of it. I started reading Tylersaurous, and picked up on Multiplex somewhere in the middle, and discovered Ryan Estrada's Cartoon Commune. I also discovered shakshuka. Gimme. Thanks Punchfork for the food porn moment.

I also chatted it up with Paul Pope about Barsoom. Thanks to him on this heads up on JC Burroughs John Carter of Mars comics. Jess Fink put me up on Hiroshi Yoshida. Sweet, sweet color palettes! I also read this wonderful interview with Gerhard earlier in the week.

Looks like it's going to be a tough couple of weeks up ahead financially. I'm hoping I really get some productivity out of Monday. My goal for March is to get a shop running, or at least take on some commissions. I may join Paul Pope in celebrating the release of Disney's John Carter of Mars by doing some sketches. Maybe I'll sell the originals. Hmmmm. Here's to March!

This weekend all I did was make salsa and watch NCIS. I also tried to draw some Zivas, but as you can tell I can't draw. I'm finding her likeness hard to pin down, but I really like the lines in the face front image.


TCJ eloquently stated the sensation that is Emily Carroll. Later last week I rediscovered Kyla Vanderklugt. Nick Edwards proved how algebraic he is.



Haha I was just reading this subsub comic, Dead Horn when Joey Bataan's Latin Strut came on.
