I added Waga Na wa Nero & Grey Digital Target to my queue.  I also caught up with the last few Oglaf strips and discovered some of Brandon B.'s hilarious Slipshine comics. I queued up a bunch of Kyle Baker comics including his infamous Plastic Man run, and picked up the first three issues of Comeback.  I fnished them this afternoon and realized that this was the depth and story I wanted out of Looper.  I might try to queue up the two Scott Smith novels/movie adaptions: A Simple Plan & The Ruins.  Thanks to Jordie on the heads up for that.

This afternoon at about 1pm I fell into an hour A.D.D. digression.  I was tweeting about some new comic concepts, then stopped to do some visual research for a character.  From there I traversed Alias, J.J. Abrams shows, 24, the 1980's, the 1970's, diverted myself to twitter, found out that Kelly Sue DeConnick is working on the new Ghost series, which brought me back to my earlier tweets.  By then my focus was so devastated that I defaulted to following links from twitter into whispy jetees of irrelevance.  I listened to some Coheed and Cambria for a bit while trying to refocus.  January is almost over, one more month go until Winter is over and Spring begins.  In another month I might be moving into a new apartment, my whole world rearranged, mostly for the better.  Next week I'll be trying to participate in Hourly Comics Day for the third year in a row, and then focusing on packing up my life.  So my focus is on making it through February with very few hangups and focusing on some big productivity in March.  Gotta dream big.

My Kingdom for my Youth

Couple of late posts.  Feeling so overwhelmed lately.  This was the weekend of San Diego Comic Con, so it felt especially depressing, but I've kept the whimpering to a minimum.

Okay I just got back from swimming with my friend and his family.  That was refreshing.

Early this past week I saw this Sailor Batgirl by Corey Lewis get covered.  I followed that to this Justice League of Japan art by Cliff Chiang from a while back.  And then I had the bright idea for a few of my own weird superhero twists, but mums the word until I can commit to drawing them.

Here's a blast from the past by Emmy and Anthony (Laser Pony!).

Speaking of those two the Benign (B9) Kingdom Fall Kickstarter is on.  The season is already funded, so any new donations will only make the editions nicer.  I hope one day to have the money to buy all the hardcovers for however many seasons they end up doing.

I downloaded Little Nemo in Slumberland because I thought I didn't already have it.  I did.  I later did the same thing with Watchmen.  Other things I added to my queue were: DC Showcase: The Return of Black Adam, Justice League: Doom, Fushigi Yuugi, Yu Yu Hakusho, Bakemonogatari, and Denpa Teki na Kanojo.

The Higgs Boson was discovered this week.  Daniel Tosh got into a heap of trouble when a blogger wrote about an incident at one of his shows.  I was crushing hard on Danielle Corsetto, and got to see her and Randy at ComfyCon.  I later saw Aaron Diaz, Angela Melick, and Anthony Clarke.  That was tonight actually.  I read a bunch of Girls with Slingshots.  Then I watched a bunch of Community and after today a bunch of The Guild.  Also today I was introduced to K-Rock band The Electric Eels.

So I started reading Saint Young Men. It's a little strange and some of the jokes are lost on me, but it's entertaining. Thanks to Natalie Nourigat for bringing it to my attention (via Between the Gears). Emerald City Comic Con was this weekend and I missed it owing to being chained to the Valley of Ash. I'm desperately wanting to leave this place, but where to build a new nest and how?

I've been recently having dreams about women I'm attracted to but don't know. Well I did actually meet Kina back in Oct. 2009.

It must be the approaching spring messing with my body chemistry and trying to get my subconscious in a sentimental figure four. Too bad I'm painfully aware of my own skepticism and awkwardness. If I could just be an idiot for a while again I would surrender.

I created a tumblr: King of the Siams

Here are a few of the tumblr's I now follow:

Ming Doyle
hello, jordyn b.
Roman Muradov
midnite surprise
pancake pancake pancake
Emmy

I also have some projects I want to get around to starting including another tumblr page, a tribute to Dwayne McDuffie, and a March-themed autobio comic. Wish me luck this month that I get off my lazy donkey and burrow into the fertile soil of my subconscious. Did you see what I did--aww never mind. Peace and Goodwill my friends.
